UK MOF Symposium 9 - 10 April 2018, University of Southampton


After the success of the MOF symposia in 2016 and 2017, we are organising a two day symposium in 2018 to bring together the UK research community working on metal-organic frameworks and open framework compounds. We strongly encourage early stage researchers and PhD students to submit their abstracts for the symposium.

Abstract submission

Please prepare a one page abstract using the template provided and e-mail it to Please note:

  • Abstract submission should be made by the presenter.
  • The subject line should read “UK MOF Symposium: Abstract Submission” followed by the surname of the corresponding author.
  • Please submit the abstract as a pdf file no larger than 500 kB.

Venue and map

The UK MOF Symposium will take place at the Highfield Campus of the University of Southampton, Southampton, SO1 1BJ. A map of the campus can be downloaded here.

Highfield campus is served extremely well by the Unilink bus service ( , and can be reached by bus in approximately 20 mins from both Southampton Central railway station and Southampton Airport. Car parking on campus is extremely limited, but if you do intend to drive please contact us for further information.

A range of hotels and can be found in and around Southampton. The closest hotel to Highfield campus is The Highfield House which is a 10-15 min walk away (

A range of hotels can also be found in the city centre (e.g. Premier Inn, Travelodge Central, Ibis etc) which are close to many bars and restaurants and the West Quay shopping centre. The campus is easily accessed from the city centre via the Unilink bus.
